Since the beginning of April this year, Ukraine has seen a significant increase in table beet prices, which is attributed to a large increase in trading activity. According to EastFruit, today beet prices range from 20 to 26 hryvnias per kilogram ($0.49–0.63 per kilogram), which is an average of 17% higher than at the end of the last working week.

Compared to the same period last year, beet prices have already doubled, which is a distinctive indicator of rapid growth. Market analysts predict a further increase in prices, citing a significant reduction in production of this product in Ukraine in the current season. This reduction, in turn, was caused by adverse weather conditions in the summer of 2024.

Farmers have already finished the main sales season, and product stocks are almost completely depleted today. Amid rapidly increasing demand and shrinking farm inventories, beet growers are seeing significant buyer excitement. The number of orders for wholesale lots continues to grow, indicating continued price increases in the coming months.

Overall, the situation on the table beet market in Ukraine remains tense, and further price increases are expected in the future. Analysts are advising consumers and farms to prepare for a possible increase in costs for this important root crop.
