Such dynamics testify to the significant economic ties of Ukraine with other states, despite the difficult conditions in which the country is.
Of the total volume of imports, 47.4 billion dollars are taxed imports, which is 83% of all imported goods. This indicator indicates the presence of a significant part of goods that are subject to taxation, which is an important source of replenishment of the state budget. At the same time, the tax burden on 1 kg of taxed imports in January-October 2024 amounted to 0.51 dollars per kilogram, which is 5% more compared to the same period in 2023.

Poland and Germany also occupy leading positions with import volumes, having supplied goods worth 5.6 billion and 4.4 billion dollars, respectively.
As for exports, Ukraine supplied the most goods to Poland, worth 4 billion dollars. Germany and Spain have also become important partners for Ukrainian exports, from which the volume of supplies to each of these countries is 2.4 billion dollars.
In the structure of imported goods for January-October 2024, 65% are machines, equipment and vehicles, which cost Ukraine 20.3 billion dollars. The output of the chemical industry is $9.3 billion, and fuel and energy products are $8.7 billion.
From the point of view of export, food products were the most exported from Ukraine, the volume of which reached 20.3 billion dollars. Metals and products from them also occupy an important place in exports, accounting for 3.8 billion dollars. Machines, equipment and vehicles amount to 2.9 billion dollars.
An important component of financial statistics is also the amount paid to the budget from the export duty on export goods. For 10 months of 2024, this indicator amounted to 251.7 million hryvnias, which adds a significant amount to state finances.
In general, the dynamics of Ukraine's trade shows the importance of foreign trade for the country's economy, despite all the challenges.
