The European tax community has supported the decision to exclude Russia and Belarus from the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA). The decision to exclude Russia and Belarus from IOTA was initiated by the head of the State Tax Service, Tetiana Kiriyenko, and supported by colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Denmark. The head of the Tax Service argues that countries that violate international law, commit war crimes, destroy infrastructure, and threaten neighboring states should not be members of influential international organizations. It emphasizes the need to isolate such countries to limit their destructive influence on global processes.

The decision to exclude Russia and Belarus from the IOTA was supported by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.

IOTA is an international organization that aims to promote cooperation between tax administrations in the European region and support their development in accordance with the needs of each administration.
