The national energy company Ukrenergo continues to take active measures to restore the energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. About 50-60% of the planned scope of work on the company's networks has been successfully completed.
This was announced by Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo, at a briefing. He emphasized that the power company has achieved a record pace of restoration, unprecedented in previous years, and is successfully carrying out much larger volumes of work this summer.
In addition to restoring the networks, Ukrenergo is actively procuring and concluding contracts for the equipment needed to restore substations. The company is also attracting financing from partners and world banks to support these processes.
According to Kudrytskyi, thanks to the hard work of power engineers, it has been possible to avoid disconnection of consumers due to lack of power in the system. However, in some hours the power system could not withstand the load and it was necessary to activate emergency assistance from neighboring countries to balance the situation.
Kudrytsky also noted that the population was warned about possible power cuts in the summer, as the situation turned out to be very difficult. It was predicted that the load on the power system would be high.
Despite the difficulties, Ukrainian power engineers continue to focus their efforts on restoring the energy infrastructure. The work is ongoing and Ukrenergo hopes to quickly restore the full functionality of the networks and ensure reliable power supply in all regions of the country.
