The cost of state registration of cars for Ukrainian owners has risen due to an increase in the price of blank products, the Main Service Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported. The price changes are due to the increase in the cost of vehicle registration certificate forms.

According to the department, the cost of registration or re-registration services includes several payments, including for the vehicle registration certificate form. According to the new tariffs, the cost of the form has increased from UAH 312 to UAH 405.

This has led to an increase in the estimated cost of registration or re-registration of vehicles with the issuance of license plates:

for vehicles of all categories or individual units - from UAH 862 to UAH 955;
for motor vehicles - from UAH 634 to UAH 727;
for trailers - from UAH 623 to UAH 716;
for mopeds or their individual units - from UAH 605 to UAH 698.
It should be noted, however, that the price increase applies only to the issuance of registration certificates on a physical form, as the cost of obtaining electronic registration certificates has not changed.

Entrepreneurs and vehicle owners may also face additional fees from banking institutions or payment systems.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that the price increase applies only to new forms, so services based on the balances of the previous batch of forms at the rate of UAH 312 will be provided until they are exhausted. Thus, the new tariffs may be introduced on August 9.

It should be noted that in June 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine amended the rules for assigning license plates, giving car owners the opportunity to choose their own license plates during registration. In August, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the procedure for obtaining technical passports, certificates and license plates, allowing them to be received by mail or courier.
