Ukraine is nearing the end of winter crops sowing, and seven regions of the country have already successfully completed the sowing campaign. Over the past week, sowing has been completed in Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions, and before that, farmers in Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Volyn, Zaporizhzhia and Zakarpattia regions have also successfully completed this important process.
As of the first week of November, the total area under winter crops reached 5 million 530 thousand hectares. More than 4 million 386 thousand hectares were sown to grain crops. In particular, wheat has been sown on 3 million 867 thousand hectares, barley on 442 thousand hectares, and rye on 76 thousand hectares. Last week, the area under grain increased by 175 thousand hectares.
Winter rapeseed sowing was completed in all regions, bringing the total area under this crop to 1 million 144 thousand hectares.
These data demonstrate the importance and activity of Ukrainian farmers who are carefully preparing for winter and ensuring high quality and quantity of winter crops.
