Small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises with up to 60 employees occupy leading positions among the winners of online auctions of the Land Bank. They make up 68% of the total number of winners, which indicates a high level of interest of small and medium-sized agricultural producers in access to land resources.
This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval. He noted that conducting online auctions allows creating equal conditions for all participants and contributes to more efficient use of land resources. According to his data, an average of 11 participants apply for each lot put up for auction.
"This indicates a high demand for land resources, as well as the fact that the online auction mechanism is effective and accessible to a wide range of agricultural enterprises," Koval noted.
In his commentary, he also emphasized that long-term sublease of land provides agricultural producers with additional confidence in the stability of their business and stimulates investment in the development of agriculture. This approach allows small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises to better plan their activities and invest in the modernization and development of production.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine also announced new online auctions to be held by the end of 2024. As part of these auctions, almost 4.36 thousand hectares of land in 13 regions of Ukraine will be put up for sale. This will allow even more agricultural producers to gain access to land and expand their activities.
Such measures are part of a large-scale reform of land relations in Ukraine, which is aimed at increasing the efficiency of land use, attracting investment in agriculture and ensuring equal conditions for all market participants. It is expected that the activity of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises at such auctions will only increase.
