"No one can say now whether there will be blackouts, just as no one can guarantee that everything will be fine and we will go through the winter in a calm, stable, relaxed mode," said Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, in the Channel 11 Podcast program.
Despite the ongoing repair of damaged equipment and modernization of infrastructure, the Ukrenergo CEO urges Ukrainians to be prepared for different scenarios as the cold season approaches.
Kudrytskyi explained that the further development of the situation will depend on what types of attacks will be carried out against the energy infrastructure during the winter, how massive they will be, where the Russian occupiers will be able to strike, and what the nature of the damage will be.
Therefore, in the face of uncertainty, the CEO of Ukrenergo emphasized that selling generators is not an appropriate solution at this time. Instead, he recommends that citizens focus on purchasing the necessary amount of fuel and having their devices inspected.
Given the unfavorable circumstances that may arise, having a backup source of energy can be an important component in ensuring uninterrupted functioning during the inevitable challenges of winter. Generators can be useful if standard sources of power supply encounter problems.
However, before purchasing generators, it is recommended that you give preference to popular and reliable brands that have already proven their effectiveness. In addition, you should understand the technical characteristics, capacity, and cost of the devices in advance to ensure that you choose the best option.
It is also advisable to prepare for the frosty period by purchasing a sufficient amount of fuel to ensure the smooth operation of the generators. In the event of an emergency, such a reserve can provide the necessary additional energy to maintain vital functions.
Ukrainians are advised to strengthen their preparedness for possible energy challenges on the winter front by ensuring that they have adequate generators and fuel reserves to keep their homes and businesses running efficiently during the harsh winter conditions.
