The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to expand the National List of Essential Medicines by adding new drugs, including the antiviral drug Valganciclovir and the drug Dapagliflozin, which is used to treat heart failure.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Changes have also been made to the dosage forms of Everolimus and Omeprazole.
The National List of Medicines includes essential safe medicines with proven efficacy used to treat the most common diseases in Ukraine.
The state guarantees patients' access to the medicines on the National List. This means that citizens have the right to receive them free of charge during treatment in medical institutions.
As of August 25, the National List contains 411 medicines, including 72 insulin products, 9 combination medicines and 23 medical devices.
It is important to note that under the "Affordable Medicines" program, starting from July 1, medicines are not sold on paper prescriptions. However, there are situations when a doctor can provide a patient with an information certificate containing information about the prescription at the patient's request.
