"Chumak" plans to build a plant for processing tomatoes into tomato paste in the Odesa region. This news was announced at a workshop on the development of vegetable growing in the region, where an official representative of the company announced the intention to create a processing enterprise that will provide almost 5 thousand jobs.
Previously, "Chumak" was located in the occupied Kakhovka of the Kherson region, but now plans to move its activities to the Odesa region. The choice of the place is related to favorable climatic conditions and support from the regional leadership and the director of the specialized department of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
The meeting participants discussed the importance of a systematic and balanced approach to production logistics, which is important both for farmers who will deliver their products for processing, and for the Chumak company itself. Those present expressed confidence that the plant will be built, as all the necessary conditions for this are already in place.
Several participants of the meeting, such as the director of the Evryka agricultural company Mykhailo Belyy and the head of the Sim-AgroYug enterprise Serhiy Bodia, expressed their willingness to support the Chumaka project and expand the sown areas for tomatoes. Mykhailo Chimshir, head of the "Niva" SFG, shared his experience in growing vegetables, particularly tomatoes.
The creation of new jobs is an important aspect for the development of Odeshchyna, and this project has great potential, stressed Borys Yureskul, director of the peasant farm "Kolos". He expressed his willingness to increase the planted area for tomatoes by 200 hectares, taking into account the prospects of creating a powerful vegetable processing complex in the Odesa region.
Thanks to the "Chumak" initiative, a new processing enterprise may appear in the Odesa region, which will contribute to the development of the tomato processing sector and the creation of new jobs.
