The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Albudayvi, noted that the entire region agrees with the extension of the «grain deal» and there are no disagreements on this issue. This information was reported by the international Arab newspaper Al-Awsat.
Restoring the functioning of the Black Sea corridor is of great importance for the export of grain, food and humanitarian supplies, which is important for ensuring food security in the region.
Albudayvi made this statement during a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Saudi Arabia, Anatoliy Petrenko, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
Additionally, the Gulf Cooperation Council's position on Russia's military aggression against Ukraine was expressed. It is based on the principles of international law and the preservation of the international order, which requires respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
The meeting of officials was devoted to discussing ways to strengthen relations between the Gulf states and Ukraine in order to promote common interests.
The Gulf Cooperation Council includes such countries as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Arab Emirates. These countries actively cooperate and jointly address issues related to their region, including economic and security aspects.
