On the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine, August 29, Ukrposhta will issue a special postage stamp "Eternal Memory!". Starting August 28, this stamp and envelope can be pre-ordered online.
This was announced by Igor Smelyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta.
"We must remember those who help us to start a new day and hope for the best in civilian life and at the front. Thanks to them, our children will go to school in a few days. That's why Ukrposhta is issuing the Eternal Memory stamp, which will be available on August 29, the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine," Smelyansky said.
It is noted that 3 hryvnias from each stamp issued will be used to help the children of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
The Ukrposhta CEO added that a special destruction of stamps will take place across the country on August 29.
The total circulation of the new stamp is 500,000 copies. The nominal value is UAH 12.00 (corresponding to the cost of sending a non-priority simple letter weighing up to 50 grams within Ukraine), plus an additional nominal value of UAH 3.00, which will be used for charitable purposes.
The design of the new stamp was created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleh Shuplyak, who used a painting titled "Sorrow". The painting depicts a Cossack bandura player bowing his head in front of the graves of his comrades, while cranes fly overhead. In ancient Russian mythology, vyrii is an eternally green and sunny country where the souls of the dead are kept.
