Ukraine and Slovakia have signed an agreement to establish a grain trade licensing system that will lift the ban on imports of four Ukrainian goods to Slovakia. This was reported by Reuters.

The Ministers of Agriculture of Slovakia, Josef Biresh, and Ukraine, Mykola Solsky, agreed to establish a grain trade system based on the issuance and control of licenses. This agreement is the result of constructive negotiations between the countries.

The special licensing system will become the basis for grain trade between Ukraine and Slovakia. It will allow to control the volume and quality of imported grain and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and norms.

However, until this system is fully implemented and tested, the ban on imports of four products from Ukraine to Slovakia remains in force. This decision was made to ensure the safety and quality of products imported to the Slovak market.

Another important detail of the agreement is that Ukraine has suspended its complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This demonstrates the readiness of both countries to work together and find compromise solutions to ensure stability in trade relations.

Ukraine and Slovakia have demonstrated the importance of cooperation and the ability to resolve disputes through dialogue and mutually beneficial agreements, which will contribute to the further development and deepening of their economic ties.
