DTEK Energy Holding has launched a new initiative, namely, the company's trading division, D.Trading, has started trading grain. This was reported in an official statement by the company's press service.

"D.Trading has decided to expand its business beyond the electricity, gas and coal markets. According to the press release, the company plans to be active in other commodity markets.

In December 2023, D.Trading concluded its first test deal on grain trading and opened an agricultural representative office in Odesa. The company started its operations in this market by signing a contract for the supply of 1000 metric tons of feed wheat. The agreement provides for the delivery of goods to the port of Chornomorsk.

D.Trading CEO Dmytro Malyar explained the company's choice to start trading in feed wheat, calling it "the least risky option for starting in a new segment." The main goal of the deal is to adapt the company's trading infrastructure to the new business line.

The company considers this move into grain trading to be a strategic one to achieve its diversification goals and expand into new market segments.
