The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed the procedure for providing one-time monetary assistance to victims of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Under the new rules, victims will be able to receive financial assistance regardless of whether they are registered as internally displaced persons (IDPs) or receive monthly housing payments.
The Ministry of Social Policy announced changes to the Procedure for providing such assistance. According to these changes, all victims of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP will receive one-time financial assistance.
In particular, the message of the Cabinet of Ministers states: "All victims of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP will receive one-time financial assistance."
One of the significant changes is the abolition of the need to verify the affected persons to receive assistance as IDPs. Thus, it will simplify the procedure for assigning monetary aid and will contribute to the quick receipt of aid to those affected by the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP.
In the past, victims had to pass an IDP status check in order to receive assistance. However, this complicated the process and delayed the allocation of financial assistance. Now, such restrictions have been removed, which will contribute to faster and smoother assistance for the victims.
It should be noted that the undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP occurred as a result of the conflict that continued in 2022. The new changes in the procedure for providing aid are one of the state's measures to ease living conditions and support victims of this tragedy.
