A compensation program has been launched to pay compensation to Ukrainians whose homes were damaged by the invasion of Russian forces. This initiative allows owners of damaged housing to receive housing certificates through the Diia app and reserve funds for the subsequent purchase of new housing.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, from now on, owners of a housing certificate can use the Diia app to reserve funds for the future purchase of a house or apartment. This allows the system to know that the user intends to purchase a new home.
The process of booking funds in Diia is simple. The user should update the application to the latest version, open the "Housing Certificates" tab in the "eRestore" section and click "Book funds". Confirmation of the booked funds is received within 5 business days, after which there are 30 days to conclude a deal to purchase a new home.
Before concluding the transaction, it is important to terminate the ownership of the destroyed property. This can be done by contacting a notary or an administrative service center. A special website provides answers to frequently asked questions, as well as information on the possibility of purchasing any housing in different regions of the country.
It is noted that 1636 certificates totaling more than UAH 3 billion have been issued so far. Compensation will be paid within the available funds on the account of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Currently, it is only possible to buy housing, but in January-February, it is expected that the certificate will be used to purchase building materials and works for self-construction.
At the same time, a pilot project is underway to inspect housing in the temporarily occupied territories, which will expand the possibilities of receiving compensation for citizens living in these regions. With the help of an innovative program and housing certificates, Ukrainians get a chance to restore their homes and stabilize their lives after the tragic events.
